I want to share this deeply impactful and evocative story in The Guardian, by Charlie Kolodziej and Vani Subramony, exposing how the US military has poisoned the island of Vieques (Puerto Rico). I had the pleasure of offering editorial feedback and line edits during the early stages of this story, and extend my highest compliments to Charlie and Vani for their amazing work!

Charlie and Vani composed this story after extensive reporting in PR during their Medill Explores trip, as part of their MSJs at Northwestern University Medill School, with Kari Lydersen. My own reporting trip to Puerto Rico was one of the most professionally enriching and personally unforgettable experiences of my MSJ at Medill.
